DiceKeep

Roll the right dice, keep the right scores. All in one place.

There is no shortage of dice rollers. What there isn't much of is one that knows which dice your game needs and how that game is actually scored. DiceKeep is built around that: pick the game, and the right dice are already on the table with a scoreboard that understands the rules.

It runs in a browser, installs to a phone home screen, and works with no connection at all. There is no signup and no account.

Catan

Two production dice in the game's own red and white, plus the Cities & Knights event die — three barbarian ships and three coloured city gates — as a switch on the game card, since base Catan doesn't use it. Turning it on doesn't disturb the production total, which still sums only the two numbered dice.

The scoreboard counts victory points rather than asking you to. There are counters for settlements, cities and victory point cards, and the total is worked out for you. Largest Army is awarded automatically from the number of knights played: three minimum, and a tie leaves it with whoever holds it, because you take that card by exceeding an army rather than matching it.

Longest Road is a manual toggle, deliberately. It depends on the longest continuous road, not on how many roads you own — a player can build ten in three disconnected clusters and have a longest path of four — so it can't be worked out from a counter. What the app does guarantee is that only one player holds it at a time, which is the part people get wrong on paper.

Yahtzee

Five dice and the real turn structure: three rolls, tapping any dice you want to keep between them. The scorecard does the arithmetic — tap a category and it scores the dice on the table, showing what each open box is worth before you commit. Boxes lock once used, the turn passes automatically, and the upper-section bonus and Yahtzee bonuses are tracked for you.

Farkle

Six dice with a running score per player to 10,000. Turn scores are entered by hand on a number pad — DiceKeep doesn't yet detect combinations for you — with a per-round history and undo, because somebody always mistypes a number.

D&D and other tabletop RPGs

The full polyhedral set — d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 and d100 — with a quick tray for adding dice mid-session, a bonus modifier, and advantage and disadvantage that roll twice and keep the higher or lower, showing the discarded die faded rather than hiding it.

Dice you make yourself

Any number of dice, any number of sides, and faces of your choosing: dots, numbers, colours, symbols, or words you type. Useful for games with unusual dice, house rules, or something that isn't a board game at all. Save a set with a name and it sits alongside the built-in games.

Custom sets get a running tally scoreboard: add players, add or subtract points, set a winning score or leave it open.

Rolls you can trust

Results come from the browser's cryptographic random number generator, using rejection sampling so every face is equally likely — a plain modulo would very slightly favour the low faces. The value is decided before the dice animate, so a slow phone can make the tumble choppy but can never change the number.

Your data stays yours

DiceKeep has no server, no accounts and no analytics. Games, players and saved dice live in your own browser's storage and are never sent anywhere. Nothing to sign up for, nothing collected, nothing to delete.
